  • Arlington Elementary School was proud to be identified by the Tennessee Department of Education as a Reward School for ranking in the top 5% from across the state in Achievement.
  • All students are provided opportunities for computer-based enrichment and remediation, as part of their weekly schedule.
  • Arlington Elementary has a positive relationship with not only the Arlington community, but the larger Mid-South community as well. Philanthropic events include: Penguin Pals for LeBonheur, St. Jude Math-a-Thon and Marathon, The Great Kindness Challenge benefitting the Humane Shelter, Coats for Kids, Relay for Life of Arlington/38002, Holiday Mail for Heroes, Angel Tree, Arlington Education Foundation 5K, and participation in the fundraiser for the West Tennessee Veterans' Home.
  • This year, 5th grade APEX students at Arlington Elementary explored science and history with a special field trip to the Discovery Park of America in Union City, TN.
  • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) has been embraced by Arlington Community Schools this school year. Both Arlington and Donelson Elementary teachers participated in training through Project Lead the Way. Students in fourth and fifth grades will benefit from the hands-on activities included in the STEM modules.
  • Extracurriculars: Juggling, Educational Leaders of Tomorrow, Safety Patrol, Student Council, Junior Beta Club, Be Fit Club, K to 5K, Yoga, Tiger Tech, Mad Scientists, Kid's Rock, Yearbook, Photography Club, Academic Scrabble Club, Perennial Math, Code.org, Spanish Club, Instrumental Club, Chess Club, and Chorus. Tutoring is also available in all grades.
  • Gifted Education: Arlington Elementary provides daily enrichment within all classrooms. Students identified as intellectually gifted receive services through the APEX Program.
  • Special Education: Arlington Elementary offers K through 5 intensive small group interventions and Co-teach Reading and Math services for students entering the 5th Grade. Arlington Elementary also offers a Functional Skills classroom for grades K through 5. This program is designed to provide those students with the skills they need in order to live independently.
  • Parent Involvement: We are proud to say that our PTA was awarded the President's Award at the 2014 Tennessee PTA Convention for having the highest membership in the state. Arlington Elementary is proud of the parent and community involvement that continues to thrive year after year. Arlington's PTA is thrilled to boast top membership in the state of TN for the 2013-2014, 2014-2015, and 2015-2016 school years.
