Charjean's Community Garden was built during the summer of 2016, and students had the opportunity to plant crops in the fall. The garden allows students to gain experience in planting the vegetables and herbs, maintaining the garden's needs, harvesting the crops, and working collaboratively.
In the Spring, nominated students in Grades 3-5 are inducted into the Elementary National Honor Society in order to recognize their academic achievement and leadership accomplishments.
Charjean Elementary is a 2013-14 Reward School , and won a Let's Move Active Schools National Recognition Award in 2014 and 2016.
Extracurriculars: Garden Club, ORFF Music, Student Ambassadors, Student Council, and Helen H. Batts National Honor Society.
