  • Students are assigned homework every night and are required to attend after-school tutoring, intervention, and homework support.
  • Curriculum and culture are focused solely on literacy, math mastery, and college readiness. Social work supports are also in place to help students and families from a social perspective.
  • Focus on parental involvement; homework requires a parent signature, and parents are contacted if teachers see a slip in attendance or academic performance; grade reports go out weekly and progress reports are distributed at the midpoint of each quarter.
  • A member of faculty greets all students individually every morning with a firm handshake and asks if the student is ready to start the day. Teachers care about student success and achievement.
  • Students experience a structured environment, but more relaxed than FPA elementary schools. There is a focus on getting students ready socially for high school before their matriculation.
  • Extracurriculars: Football, Basketball, Track, Cheerleading
  • Gifted Education: Additional programming is provided for gifted students.
  • Special Education: A more inclusive model is provided, and students are supported through the Special Pops program, no matter their IEP.
