Summer Programs: Summer Bridge is a two-week program designed to prepare incoming sixth graders for the transition into middle school. Students spend two weeks getting a review of the middle school curriculum, meeting teachers, and making new friends. The program culminates with a visit to different college campuses around the Mid-South.
Members of the Cougar Marching Band spend the summer sharpening their skills and preparing for the coming school year.
Kirby Middle School is operated by Green Dot Public Schools, a charter management organization with a proven history of turnaround work. Green Dot has created a college-going culture.
A free after-school program is open to all Kirby Middle students from 3:00pm to 5:00pm.
Reading and math intervention is offered to all students, creating more pathways to academic success.
Community partners work with the school to continuously beautify the campus. Kirby Middle and Green Dot have partnered with Home Depot to sow a community garden.
