Focus on college; classes are addressed by their year of college graduation; rooms bear the names of colleges and universities; students attend trips to colleges and universities
Two full-time, certified teachers per class in kindergarten and 1st grade
School-wide and classroom culture that rewards and teaches positive behavior via establishing clear expectations, modeling correct behavior, enforcing rules warmly, but strictly, developing and reinforcing strong character traits
Over 200 minutes per day of individualized literacy instruction, including writing, beginning in kindergarten; provides nearly 300 additional instructional hours per year than traditional schools
Uses proven curricular resources from country's highest-performing schools
Extracurriculars: Ballet, Spanish, Art, Tae Kwon Do, Tutoring Program
Gifted Education: Gifted scholars receive pull-out services designed to emphasize academic strengths
Special Education: Inclusion, individualized program ranging from academic consultation to resource and extended resource, for scholars with more intensive needs; speech/language, occupational, and physical therapies are available as needed
Parent Involvement: Volunteer opportunities are at a weekly level, and also can be set-up daily by calling the front office. Additionally, every quarter, families are invited to Parents and Pastries, an event where participate in a classroom activity that is designed to provide families with curricular and take-home resources to accelerate student learning at home. Families then attend our whole school community meeting to celebrate academic wins and community growth. Families also attend Data and Desserts nights to review student data and different components of our ELA and math curriculums, in addition to Parent Teacher Conferences.
