Peabody has such a warm and inviting feel. There is such a sense of community and we really appreciate the high level of diversity. Parental involvement is high and it is clear that the teachers care about the kids. Peabody is an excellent midtown elementary school option.
Peabody Has Given Us the Chance to be Involved!Parent 03/31/2015
When my son was finishing up at the Barbara K. Lipman School Preschool on the University of Memphis campus, we just knew he was going to attend Campus School -- I was a professor at the U of M at the time and Campus is a great school. But then some friends asked us to consider Peabody. And we did. It is less than a mile from our house and the first time we walked inside, it had the warm feeling we wanted from an elementary school. We met the teachers and the principal and after much consideration, decided it would be best to attend our neighborhood school. Its proximity has allowed us to be incredibly involved and sometimes, we even ride my son on his bike to school. Next year, our daughter will attend kindergarten at Peabody -- and we can't wait. We love the small size of the school - every teacher knows my son and us, and we are excited about our daughter experiencing the same thing. My son feels important at Peabody -- he can't imagine going anywhere else. And neither can we. It's not perfect -- no school is. But it's been so good for us.
