Sheffield offers the AVID, Advancement Via Individual Determination, program. AVID is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to closing the achievement gap by preparing all students for college and other postsecondary opportunities.
Sheffield was named a 2015 Tennessee Reward School (ranked in the top 5% of schools in the state in terms of growth).
All teachers offer after-school tutoring to assist students in meeting TNReady standards.
Students can receive intervention embedded in the regular school day through enrichment courses.
