  • College preparatory curriculum focused on 21st century skills of communication, creativity, collaboration. Since the first graduating senior class in 2006, the 767 SGIS graduates have attended 174 schools in 39 states, Washington D.C., Canada, and the UK. The top 25% of St. George's ninth graders outperformed college freshmen on the College and Work Readiness Assessment (CWRA).
  • Students meet regularly with their advisory group. The advisor works closely with the student to address questions or concerns throughout the year, helps the student when selecting course options, and maintains frequent communication with parents throughout the academic year.
  • The most recent parent survey indicates that 93% of parents report that their child feels safe and connected at school; 95% feel strongly that the SGIS experience is having a positive impact on their child; 93% report that their child is being well-prepared for college and beyond.
  • Founded in the Episcopal tradition, students attend chapel services regularly. Ethical literacy, service learning, and an honor code round out the character education components.
  • St. George's Independent School offers a distinctive one school/three campus educational model that seeks to provide students with experiences in transformative diversity and has received attention from The New York Times, The Commercial Appeal, and the National Association of Independent Schools.
  • Extracurriculars: A wide variety of co-curricular activities are offered in the areas of academics, performing arts, fine arts, outdoor learning, service, and sports. The school fields over 70 middle school, JV, and varsity athletic teams.
  • Parent Involvement: Parents Association, parent education events such book discussions, parent-teacher conferences. The campus Parents Association works with the other Parent Association boards at the other St. George's campuses in Memphis and Germantown.
