Our award-winning Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) programs have earned our school top rankings and are recognized at the local, regional, and state levels through participation in MathCounts, Science Olympiad, and Tennessee Mathematics Teachers' Association contests. Seventh grade students participating in the Duke Talent Identification Program (TIP) earned an average of 21 on the national ACT composite.

Application Requirements: For 2017-18 Optional attendance - Applicants must have As and Bs with no more than one C for a semester average and score at or above the 80th percentile on the total and composite Reading and Mathematics NWEA MAP test. All applicants must have satisfactory conduct and attendance with no more than 15 absences/tardies. Students who are accepted into the Optional Program at WSMS and meet renewal requirements will be accepted into the WSHS Optional Program on a continuation basis.
Post pandemic my child left the CLUE/Optional program at Grahamwood to attend in person classes at a private school. Post pandemic my child left the CLUE/Optional program at Grahamwood to attend in person classes at a private school. She decided to return to public school for middle school since she could walk to WSMS. We did not know how to enroll her in anything other than that she's in district for the school. She has been faced with disengaged and borderline abusive teachers, apathetic administration and it's been wholly a disaster. Her whole engagement has changed from being excited to go to school to begging to stay home because "Why does it matter, the teachers don't even care if I learn." Not what I expected. So if your child is not in the optional or CLUE programs, I would NOT recommend this school based on the fact the children then have teachers that only seem to be there for the paycheck and not their students and an administration who does nothing about it.

I could not be more pleased with this school. The teachers and administration do an incredible job. We were in CLUE both Mrs. Varriano and Mrs. Brenneman took the time to know my son and challenged him appropriately. The skills he learned in their classes and expectations set will have a positive impact forever. Mr. Page reminds the students of their worth and challenges them to be the best person they can be daily. White Station Middle School continues to provide an excellent learning and social environment for students. My family has had a presence at the school since 2008 when the 1st of 3 sons attended; we'll be there until 2017. Over the years the school has been consistent in excelling in national rankings challenging students academically and providing all the other activities that help make school fun: from great friendships to sports to school dances. It well prepared our oldest son who takes a slew of AP courses at White Station High School. Our family highly recommends this school.
