School Day: 8am – 3pm
Extended Care: 3pm – 6pm
Summer Programs: Wooddale Middle will offer a two week summer bridge to students entering 6th grade at Wooddale Middle School. Students will have opportunities to meet new teachers, classmates and take part in a number of activities to prepare them for middle school.
Uniform Required
Summer Bridge is offered to incoming sixth grade students. It's a free two week program in the summer that prepares students for middle school.
All students who are reading below grade level are offered reading intervention daily. The goal is to grow each student's reading level by two years.
All students receive math intervention, as well as, a regular math class that meets the TN standards for grade level math.
Free after school program offered from 3 pm - 6 pm daily. We offer Code Crew, Ballet on Wheels, yoga, culinary arts and more!
Wooddale Middle is working to improve the health outcomes of the families we serve. Through a partnership with the Mid-South Food Bank and Dar Salud Healthcare, the Wave of Health is providing healthy food options, while also improving risk factors that lead to chronic illness.
Extracurriculars: Wooddale is a public charter school and participates in all middle school sports leagues: basketball, football, softball, volleyball, baseball, track, and cheer. An after-school program comprised of programs tailored to the interests of students is also offered.
Gifted Education: Students designated as gifted are offered CLUE according to their IEP.
Special Education: Functional skills courses are offered to students who meet that designation. Inclusion support is offered to students, as well as IAs for students requiring this service per their IEP.
Parent Involvement: There are opportunities for parents through the School Advisory Committee (SAC). Parent workshops are also offered throughout the school year. These workshops include free tax prep information coming in January, resume writing and job fair in February and Parent Ambassador training. Parents are also encouraged to volunteer in the school community.
Tours: Visits and tours at Wooddale may be scheduled through the main office.
