  • School's economic, racial and religious diversity is somewhat unique in the private school world; girls learn to interact with others in environments that mirror those in the "real" world
  • Strong level of alumnae support and involvement; students have opportunities to meet ICCS alums through annual Mercy Day homecoming and Career Days, and learn to network with accomplished professional women who are invested in their academic success
  • The unique Student Leadership Program encourages personal growth by developing the entire student - mind, body, and soul. Assembly time is devoted to speakers through a series of workshops for students on building confidence and self-advocacy. Given the pressures of high school today, IC offers programs during assemblies covering mindfulness, self-defense, and a deepening relationship with God.

  • Special Education: ICCS will accommodate students with identified learning differences, provided the young woman's post-graduation goal is a four-year university education. ICCS has a teacher certified in special education who coordinates services for students with learning differences. She serves as the advocate for students who come to ICCS with documented learning differences to assist faculty in coordinating and understanding accommodations as directed by the doctor. She works directly with parents and students.
  • Parent Involvement: Home and School Association, fundraisers (Fall Festival, Black and White Masquerade), Parent Ambassador Board, Class Parents
  • Tours: ICCS hosts two campus-wide open houses per year. Personal tours of the campus are offered daily by appointment. Prospective students are encouraged to come for a "shadow visit" to accompany a hostess student with similar interests to attend classes, meet the faculty and students, and enjoy "a day in the life" of an IC girl. The admissions office can set up that visit.
  • An extensive college counseling program begins in freshman year with meetings with the college counselor to discuss transcripts and the importance of high school academic performance. In sophomore year, students are provided with access to a software system that aids in college searches, locating scholarships, and preparing college resumes. In junior and senior years, students are invited to meet with visiting college representatives and take an annual college visit field trip.

  • Strong academics and diversityParent 02/28/2015
We chose ICCS for our daughter because of solid academics and college prep, outstanding guidance counselor and most ethnic and economic diversity of any private school in the Memphis area. Class sizes are small and Christian environment and weekly Mass is socially and morally nurturing.
