School is only for children and young adults with intellectual disabilities; offers an individualized educational plan for each student to maximize strengths and diminish challenges
Adult Program focuses on social skills, daily living skills, and job preparation; students participate in Work-Based Learning to ease the transition between school and work while reinforcing life and job skills; trainees gain useful, real job experiences that will allow them to utilize and apply their academic, social, and technical skills to authentic workplace situations.
Highly qualified staff includes nine licensed special education teachers, at least one special education assistant in each class, two full-time speech therapists, an occupational therapist, a creative movement specialist, yoga instructor, and music and art instructors.
Extracurriculars: Kaleidoscope Expressive Arts Program
Special Education: All students are enrolled in ungraded classes or "groups" with a small teacher to student ratio. Every student has an individualized educational plan that addresses all academic areas as well as social/behavior objectives and daily living skills. Students also participate in adaptive physical education, visual art, yoga, and Orff music.
Parent Involvement: School has an active PTA that is responsible for many events throughout the year.
