  • Veritas College Prep has consistently shown significantly strong scholar growth. This includes being named a Tennessee Reward School for Scholar Progress in 2014-2015, honoring Veritas for scholar growth in the top 5% of all public schools in the state. Veritas has also consistently been designated as a TVAAS Level 5 school, the highest designation for scholar academic growth.
  • Veritas has a laser-like focus on college prep academics and preparing our scholars for success in high school, college, and beyond. To accomplish this, Veritas has an extended school day that is filled with double blocks of math and ELA instruction, plus time for small group remediation and book studies. Supporting the academic work is a strong school culture rooted in our core values of TRUTH (Teamwork, Respect, Urgency, Tenacity, Honesty).
  • Veritas College Prep is now located in the same building as the elementary school, Memphis College Prep. This partnership now provides excellent options for grades Kindergarten-8th all under one roof!
  • Veritas has a growing number of extracurricular activities and enrichment opportunities for our scholars, including clubs/teams in the arts, sports, and technology. Many of our enrichment clubs rotate on a quarterly basis based on feedback from scholars and staff, creating the opportunity for scholars to be exposed to a wide variety of experiences. Current and past clubs include flag-football, choir, dance, yoga, book clubs, debate, computer coding, and many more.
  • Veritas has developed partnerships with many different organizations and professionals to help students develop into college-ready scholars. Lunch Buddies, a mentoring program supported by the Memphis Grizzlies Foundation, pairs scholars with a professional in the community to eat lunch together once a week. Medtronic exposes scholars to the field of engineering through STEM activities, speakers, and field trips. And Memphis Athletic Ministries provides after school and athletic programming.
  • Extracurriculars: Choir, Drama, Step & Dance Team, Computer Coding, Boys/Girls Basketball, Boys/Girls Cross-Country, Girls Volleyball, Art Club, Chess Club, Newsletter/Yearbook Club, Ethical Leadership Board, STEM partnership with Medtronic, and various other programs/clubs associated with the enrichment program. Veritas also partners with Memphis Athletic Ministries to provide after-school programming and athletic opportunities.
  • Parent Involvement: Parents receive weekly progress reports and report card conferences are held quarterly. Parents are encouraged to become involved in ways that best fit their interests and schedules. This could include volunteering at the school answering phones in the main office or helping restock books in the library. It also could include volunteering as chaperones for field trips or helping to decorate for school parties/dances. Parents can serve on committees that assist with the school improvement plan, fundraising activities, and teacher appreciation events. Veritas is also currently partnering with STAND for Children to offer training opportunities for the school's families.
  • Tours: Veritas currently has an open door policy and is available for tours at any time. Please contact the main office (901 526-1900) to schedule your visit today! Specific enrollment opportunities including visits, tours, and info sessions will be scheduled throughout the spring; please visit our website and social media pages for the most up-to-date information.
